Tata Hitachi World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), India’s longest running corporate golf tournament, teed off the for the 20th time. 116 amateur golfers participated in this edition’s inaugural round at Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Mumbai on January 19.

Prominent business leaders who were part of the action included Ajay Chauhan (Executive Director, Parle Products), Arjun Nohwar (Head-Asia Pacific, Uber), Asheesh Mohta (Managing Director, Blackstone), Gaurav Sahgal (Country Head, HSBC), Ranadeep Mookherjee (Dy. General Manager, ICICI Bank), Rehan Poncha (Head, SwimSmart with Rehan Poncha), Sandeep Batra (CFO, Crompton Greeves Electricals), D. Shivkumar (Executive President, Aditya Birla Group), Sudhir Jain (MD, Bank of America) and Ravikanth Konteti (MD, JP Morgan Chase) among others.

The Mumbai leg, category A was won by Mr. Harmeet Sahney (Executive Director, Avendus Capital) & the runner up who lost was Mr. Kuldeep Singh Sandhu. Category B winner was Mr. Dai Remmei (Individual Addl Central PF Commissioner) & runners up were Mr. Dhruv Gupta (Partner, Devkinandan J Gupta metals LLP) and Mr. Rajesh Natarajan (Director, Sabari Group). Both categories were keenly contested with category B (19-24) having Dhruv Gupta and Rajesh Natarajan tie at 36 points and both have qualified for the National Final. Wework Player of day was won by Mr. Gautam Balakrishnan (Vice President: Head Smart Cities, Tata Projects Ltd.).

Speaking at the tee-off, Mr. Sandeep Singh, MD – Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Pvt.
