The World Corporate Golf Challenge are delighted to announce that Italian sportswear company Conte of Florence will partner the 2014 WCGC World Final, that will take place from the 1st – 6th July at both the NH Almenara Hotel and La Reserva Club de GolfSotogrande, Spain.

Conte of Florence made its debut in 1952 when the first shop with the name Con.T.E. (Confezione Tessuti Esclusivi – Exclusive Fabrics Tailoring) was opened near the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, offering ladies’ clothing made exclusively by hand by some of the city’s best-known dressmakers. In 1958 the name CON.T.E. was changed to Conte of Florence, and the shop made way for the company. Subsequently, on 21 July 1972, Conte of Florence SpA was incorporated. A logo comprising the letter “C” and a lily, the emblem of Tuscany’s regional capital, was added to the name Conte of Florence to underscore the brand’s origins.

A growing company in sports world

Since then Conte of Florence and its logo have become one of the most recognised and appreciated leaders in the sports world. The popularity of the Florentine company has continued to grow from their initial sponsorship of the National Italian Alpine Ski Team in 1969, to their foray into the golfing world in the eighties. In fact the first golf course to be designed and built was in Florence and it is these golfing origins that initially inspired the Conte of Florence brand. Conte of Florence is now worn by professional golfers including Costantino Rocca, Robert Karlsson, Diana Luna, Emanuele Canonica and Alex Levy who recently won the 2014 Volvo China Open.

Conte of Florence is a ‘Total Look’ sportswear company with ties to the professional sports world of Skiing, Golf and Sailing. Conte of Florence will be positioned as Official Apparel Supplier to the 2014 World Final. WCGC Staff Competitors and Guests will be kitted out with Conte of Florence clothing during the week. Competitors and Guests will also get the chance to win a number of Conte of Florence sponsored prizes at La Reserva Club De Golf at a designated Conte of Florence Par 3 hole.
