LONDON, ENGLAND: The Dominican Republic is the latest country to join the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC)AMEROPA Golf will join the growing list of license holders, when they begin running their qualifying events later this year.

AMEROPA was founded in 1979 in Caracas, Venezuela by the Espino family. The company is dedicated to outbound and inbound tourism and specialises in the organisation of events, conferences, sales conventions, sporting events and charter flights. In 1996, AMEROPA Golf opened in the Dominican Republic with the help of Michael Espino Conneely. With Michael’s expertise in sporting events and in particular golf events, AMEROPA Golf now organises tournaments both inside and outside of the Dominican Republic. AMEROPA Golf are members of IAGTO and are also the VPAR franchise holders for the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

Michael Espino Conneely said, “We are excited to bring the WCGC to the Dominican Republic. Golf has been the fastest growing sport for the past five years and the Dominican Republic has become the hottest golf destination in the Caribbean with more than 20 top golf courses to choose from. We are certain that top companies throughout the country will be participating in this prestigious event”.

José Guerra, Chairman of the WCGC, said: “We are very excited about working with Michael and AMEROPA Golf. We met Michael at the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida, at the start of the year and subsequently at the 2013 World Final where we were delighted to sign contracts with him to become the license holder for the Dominican Republic. He is already a successful VPAR franchise holder and we are in no doubt that he will make the WCGC a huge success.”
