2022 World Final

17-21 October, Tenerife (Spain)

Four more pairs of golfers fought their way into the RAK TDA UAE Final of the World Corporate Golf Challenge which will take place at the fabulous Al Hamra Golf Club on Thursday 12th April.

John Fellingham Winner

The two qualifying events that took place last week were held at Jumeirah Golf Estates and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht, and both were well supported by full fields and both produced some excellent golf.

At Friday’s qualifier at Jumeirah Golf Estates, the winning team was the pairing of Nadeem Masud and Dan Samarasinghe whose excellent combined score of 72 Stableford points projected them to the top of a long leaderboard, with the pairing of Campbell Brown and Ben Willis coming in in second place with 67 points.
Nearest-the-pin prizes from sponsors Palmers and OnCourse Golf were won by Lynne Wylie, Antonio Varela, Paul Barnard and Ian Hodges.

At Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, another big field enjoyed a great afternoon’s golf on the course that is arguably in the best condition in the club’s 25 year history.

After presenting the on-course nearest the pin prizes to Edoardo Galleopini, Joseph Ghossoub, Abdullah Al Naboodah and Conor Byrne, it was fitting that in this anniversary year one of the club’s longest standing and most supportive members – and captain of the Creek’s victorious Scratch League Champions for 4 consecutive years, – John Fellingham, partnered with Tariq Al Suwaidi should take the top prize with 70 points.

It was a close run thing, though, as their victory only came courtesy of a count-back, pushing the team of JP Fitzgerald and Tobias Parkin into second place. Fortunately they still qualified for the final at Ah Hamra, and will have a chance of winning the ultimate prize -representing the UAE in the World Final in Portugal.

All four pairs now go forward to the UAE Final at Al Hamra on April 12th, in association with RAK Tourism Development Authority.

The UAE World Corporate Golf Challenge is supported by RAK TADA, Palmers, Mediclinic, 800-Battery, Musco, Santa Fe Relocations, and Golf Escapes.
