The 10th annual edition of TAKE Solutions World Corporate Golf Challenge-India witnessed a very close finish as Ramesh Swiss Watch and KGA-2, separated only by a single point, secured the top two positions at Eagleton Golf Resort, Bengaluru today. With this victory, both the teams have reached the National Final to be held in Malaysia in May.
Young professional golfers Abhishek Jha and Udayan Mane were also seen in action in an exhibition match as their game play encouraged and inspired the participants to bring on their A-game.
An avid golfer with a handicap of 8, K Sashidhar Reddy scored 34 nett points and was supported by team-mate Sonam Chugh (h’cap 7) who pitched in with 38 nett points to take Ramesh Swiss Watch to the top with a total of 72 points.
Father of promising pro golfer Khalin Joshi, Hitesh Joshi (h’cap 1) scored 35 nett points while teammate Rajesh Joshi (h’cap 11) ended the day with 36 nett points to give KGA-2 a combined score of 71 nett points to emerge runners up on day two.
Both the teams have qualified for the National Final to be held in Malaysia where they will compete against finalists from Delhi NCR (Jaypee Greens Golf Resort, April 10-11) and Pune/Mumbai (at Oxford Golf & Country Club, April 18-19) for a chance to represent Corporate India at the World Finals to be held at Oitavos Dunes Golf Course in Cascais, Portugal from 30 June to 5 July 2015.
Hitesh Joshi also won the Best Gross individual award as he scored 74 gross points and the Best Nett Individual award went to Shekar Swamiji for a score of 42 nett points.
The qualifying action for the National Final will next reach Delhi NCR on April 10-11 from where four more teams of two players each will be selected.
