On October 30, the 2024 Luzhou Laojiao Guojiao 1573 WCGC World Final and Sports Legends Cup kicked off at Mission Hills Haikou, China. Competing for the title, 35 teams from 30 countries were joined by nearly 40 celebrity team captains and over 100 guest players in the Sports Legends Cup.
The tournament began at 9:30 a.m. following a grand opening ceremony. Despite intermittent rain from typhoon conditions, players persevered through challenging course conditions, with play stretching past 5 p.m.
After nearly eight hours of play, Japan and India led the first-round scoreboard with 51 and 44 points, respectively. France was closely followed in third, while China’s Team Guojiao 1573 A and B tied for sixth place.
