The Golf Costa Adeje was designed by renowned golf architect Jose Gancedo, who used the land’s natural features to integrate them into the course.
Nowadays, it’s hard to believe this beautiful Course was a former banana plantation. Still, it was designed to take advantage of its natural resources by integrating them into the Course design. The entire circuit is defined by small terraces delimited by stone walls used to divide the former banana plantations. This summarises the original resources of this superb golf Course, which comprises 18 holes par 72, the Championship Course, and a 9-hole course called “Los Lagos” par 33.
The Championship Course offers wide-open greens and stunning views across the island of La Gomera, especially the famous Hole 4, which has become a true favourite for thousands of players from all over Europe.
Golf Costa Adeje & Sustainability
Golf Costa Adeje is one of the first Courses in Europe to use Paspalum fairways and the greens in tifEagle, making it possible to irrigate the Course with recycled water. Sustainability is one of the courses´ most essential commitments.
As a Golf Course, it is aware of protecting the environment; therefore, its activities and facilities are always conceived from a sustainability perspective, avoiding pollution and negative impacts through the sustainable use of resources.
Hosting International Golf Tournaments
This Course has hosted International Golf Tournaments throughout its history, including several European Tour Events, such as the Tenerife Open in April 2021 & Canary Islands Championship, in May 2021. The great Severiano Ballesteros played here at the Spanish Open in 2003. The Course was also the proud home of the European Ladies Open in 2005, 2008 & 2009, the Campeonato de Profesionales Femenino in 2013 and the Open de España in 2014. Every summer, Costa Adeje is the venue for corporate brands and local amateur Tournaments, contributing to the community’s expansion of the golf sport.
The beautiful colonial-style Club House is another hallmark that contributes to offering a charming character to this Course. With spacious terraces where you can admire one of the most beautiful Sunset in Tenerife, golfers can enjoy a relaxing lunch or a drink after their game. Caddy Master service provides top-quality Club rentals, including cleaning service and Electric Buggys, with GPS to help find the right way and trolleys or our Marshall’s buggy bar always around when needed. The Pro-Shop is open seven days a week and offers exclusive golf brands to satisfy the most demanding customers.
This course also has a place for those who are just beginners, and it can be found at 9 Hole Course Los Lagos. This par 33 was built after the Championship Course and is next to the driving range. It´s a little bit shorter but exciting to play. Los Lagos owes its name to 6 beautiful lakes, which make it more fun to play. This course has been growing in popularity in recent times.
We can’t forget to mention the Driving Range area as one of our highlights by using the elevator to reach it. The driving range is a massive extension of 45.000m² and has been implemented in a remarkable natural setting, blessed with three output levels set on different heights. It also features a practice bunker, two putting greens, and chipping greens.
