Reliance Golf delivers a landmark international corporate golf event in Islamabad, bringing together business leaders, diplomats and global golf leadership
The Mari Energies World Corporate Golf Challenge Pakistan 2026 – International Series, National Final, organized by Reliance Golf, concluded at Islamabad Club with a landmark victory for Team Pakistan Army and a powerful statement about the future of golf in Pakistan.
The National Final brought together 11 finalist teams from WCGC regional tournaments across Pakistan, competing for the opportunity to represent the country at the WCGC World Final in Beijing, China, where teams from more than 30 countries will compete later this year.
The event also featured two prestigious invitational categories, the Corporate Invitational and the Diplomatic Invitational, creating a unique platform where golf, business, diplomacy and international engagement came together.
The 2026 WCGC World Final will take place at Beijing Qinghe Bay Golf Country Club from 19-23 October 2026.
A Landmark Visit from WCGC International Leadership
One of the defining moments of the National Final was the first-ever visit to Pakistan by José Guerra, Chairman of the World Corporate Golf Challenge.
Guerra travelled to Islamabad to attend the National Final and experience Pakistan’s golf community and corporate landscape first-hand. His visit represented an important connection between Pakistan and the global WCGC network.
He was joined by Claude May, PGTAA Certified Master Teaching Professional and Head Coach at Golf Haven Malaysia, whose presence added an international coaching and development dimension to the event.
The WCGC had previously highlighted Pakistan’s opportunity to strengthen its connections with the global golf community and positioned the National Final as an important step in bringing Pakistan back onto the international corporate golf stage.
Eleven Teams. One Road to Beijing.
At the heart of the National Final was the Road to Beijing championship.
The 11 finalist teams had earned their places through regional WCGC qualifying tournaments held across Pakistan. Their journey culminated at Islamabad Club, where they competed for the right to carry Pakistan’s name to the WCGC World Final.
After a highly competitive championship, Asif Maqsood and Ehtisham Abbasi of Team Pakistan Army emerged as the winners of the Road to Beijing title.
Their victory earns them the honour of representing Pakistan in Beijing this October, where they will compete against qualified teams from more than 30 countries on the global WCGC stage.
For Pakistani golf, the significance extends well beyond a tournament result. The victory marks an important return of Pakistan to the international WCGC competition and provides a new opportunity for Pakistani golfers to compete, connect and represent the country at the highest level of corporate golf.
Corporate Leaders Take to the Course
The National Final also hosted a dedicated Corporate Invitational Category, bringing together senior representatives from leading organizations and creating an environment where competition and business networking could take place side by side.
The Corporate Invitational was won by Mr. Amir Salim of OGDC and Mr. Kifayat Khattak of Eastern Testing Services, who secured first position with an impressive 55 points.
Their victory added another highlight to a tournament designed not only around competitive golf, but also around the relationships and connections that golf can create within Pakistan’s corporate community.
Diplomacy Meets Golf
The Diplomatic Invitational Category brought members of Pakistan’s diplomatic community onto the course, reinforcing the event’s wider objective of using golf as a platform for international relationships and engagement.
The category was won by Asyraf Fahmi and Helmi Khairul of the High Commission of Malaysia, who claimed first position with 47 points.
The diplomatic competition added an international dimension to the National Final and reflected the ability of golf to bring together people from different countries and professional backgrounds in a relaxed and meaningful environment.
An Evening of Celebration and Leadership
The day’s celebrations culminated in a prestigious Prize Distribution Ceremony attended by more than 150 corporate leaders and members of the diplomatic community, alongside sponsors, partners, golf officials, international guests and participating teams.
The ceremony celebrated not only the winners but also the collective effort behind the return of the World Corporate Golf Challenge to Pakistan.
The presence of international WCGC leadership, corporate executives and diplomats created an atmosphere that went beyond a conventional sporting prize ceremony, reflecting the broader role that corporate golf can play in building relationships between business, sport and international communities.
Strong Support from Pakistan’s Corporate Sector
The National Final was made possible through the support of leading corporate partners.
Mari Energies served as the Title Partner, while OGDC was one of the event’s main sponsors.
Marriott Islamabad joined the event as the Exclusive Hospitality Partner, supporting the international guests and contributing to the premium hospitality experience surrounding the National Final.
The event also benefited from the support of numerous stakeholders and partners who helped bring together the sporting, corporate, and diplomatic dimensions of the tournament.
Reliance Golf’s Vision for World Corporate Golf Challenge Pakistan 2026
For Reliance Golf, the World Corporate Golf Challenge Pakistan 2026 National Final represents more than the successful conclusion of a tournament.
Since taking responsibility for the World Corporate Golf Challenge Pakistan 2026 platform, Reliance Golf has sought to create a corporate golf ecosystem that connects Pakistani businesses and golfers with international opportunities.
The WCGC model provides a pathway from regional competition to a national championship and ultimately to the World Final. Across more than 30 countries, national events create opportunities for business leaders and corporate golfers to compete for the right to represent their countries internationally.
The Pakistan National Final therefore represents the beginning of a broader journey, one that aims to position Pakistan not simply as a country where golf is played, but as an active participant in the global golf community.
Pakistan’s Road to Beijing
With the National Final now concluded, the focus turns to Beijing.
Asif Maqsood and Ehtisham Abbasi will carry Pakistan’s flag to the WCGC World Final this October, competing against representatives from more than 30 countries at Beijing Qinghe Bay Golf Country Club.
For Pakistan, this is more than a qualification.
It is an opportunity to demonstrate the country’s golfing talent, hospitality, and potential on an international stage.
It is an opportunity to strengthen relationships with the global golf community.
And it is an opportunity to show what Pakistan can contribute to the world of corporate golf.
The Road to Beijing began in Pakistan.
Now, the country’s champions take that journey to the world stage.
One Nation. One Champion. One Road to Beijing.
