World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final 2023

The 2023 World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final will be played in Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain), from 2-6 October

During the World Final of the 2023 World Corporate Golf Challenge in Tenerife, teams from more than 20 countries will compete in pairs. The teams, representing the world’s leading companies, will have the opportunity to play some of the island’s most impressive golf courses, including Golf Costa Adeje, which hosted last year’s final and is a regular venue for major international tournaments, and Abama Golf, home of the Sports Legends Cup. These two superb courses illustrate the excellent quality of golf in Tenerife and will undoubtedly contribute to the event’s success.

As well as being a golf competition, the World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final is an event that extends beyond the golf courses. Players will have the opportunity to participate in social and cultural activities that will allow them to discover the natural beauty of Tenerife, enjoy the local gastronomy and immerse themselves in the island’s culture and tourist attractions.

José Guerra, Chairman of the World Corporate Golf Challenge, said: “We want to celebrate our 30th anniversary in such a magnificent place as Tenerife. Last year’s World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final was a great success, and all the attendees were impressed by the level of golf and tourism on the island. I would especially like to thank the work of the Cabildo and Turismo de Tenerife for making this event a reality,” he says.

The head of the tournament stresses that “the 30th anniversary of the World Corporate Golf Challenge is a unique occasion to honour the history and legacy of the event while continuing to strengthen relationships and celebrate the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship in the corporate world”.

The First Vice-President and Councillor for Tourism of the Island Council, Lope Afonso, highlights the importance of the event as an instrument for promoting the island and its character as a golf destination, “and which places the island at the level of places that have previously held it such as Cascais (Portugal), Fancourt (South Africa), Montego Bay (Jamaica) or Loch Lomond (Scotland), among others”.

Afonso points out that “the World Corporate Golf Challenge World Final, which recognises Tenerife’s great capacity to host top-level events, will be attended by players representing leading companies from all over the world, who will have the opportunity to get to know not only some of the excellent courses we have but also the whole complementary offer of Tenerife”.

Along these lines, the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, adds that the event “is much more than a golf tournament, combining social and cultural activities, as well as visits and excursions that will allow those attending to discover the natural areas, the gastronomy and the charm of the island’s towns and villages”.

Melwani, who is convinced that the destination will make a great impression on the participants, specifies that the tournament is presented “as a great opportunity, as was the case with last year’s successful edition, to showcase the first-class accommodation specially prepared to meet the needs of the players, with its spa and wellness centres, or activities such as whale watching or stargazing, to mention just a few”.
